7 Mythical Creatures of the TV Business

20141023-001114-674550.jpg Leprechauns, mermaids, frigid cameramen… who are the least likely characters to stumble upon in your television career?
1. The Decisive Commissioner The unicorn of the industry; a lovely idea that would surely make everyone’s lives better, but I don’t think anyone’s ever met one.

2. The Runner About to get Discovered and Become a Presenter Like dragons these may once have been a commonplace creature but have now been reduced to a legend that someone once heard someone else say happened to someone someone else once knew.

3. The Nine-to-Fiver The Mermaid. The telly worker who’s managed to strike a work-life balance looks normal / incredibly attractive at first, but there’s something fishy about them and it turns out they are in fact a rare and completely different species to the rest of us.

4. The Working Class Producer An oxymoronic banshee. As much as this creature may wail about their roots and cling to the shoulder chip of being raised in the ‘hood; the daily sushi habit overrules the years of eating spam fritters.

5. The Generous Production manager Also known as a genie. If you are lucky enough to discover one, continue to rub them the right way and all your wishes will indeed be granted.

6. The Out of Money Production Manager Our very own leprechauns. Can they really only spare 59 pence for per diems or have they actually got pots of gold buried all over the place?

7. The Once Psychotic Exec Who’s Turned Over a New Leaf You’ve heard of Medusa, right? Don’t get sucked in by an uncharacteristically complementary boss; you’ll be caught off guard and turned to stone with one look. Please let us know if you have any concrete evidence that any of the above beings exist, or can name any other telly myths.
